Angelica MacArthur-Kline – Biography

Angelica has been a Chartered Clinical Psychologist since 1984. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a member of the BPS Register of Clinical Psychologists specialising in Psychotherapy.

Psychology is her second career, the first having been as a professional ballet dancer in The Dutch National Ballet, Amsterdam. She has carried on an active interest in dance teaching and even performing during her years as a Clinical Psychologist. She has publications regarding the psychological stresses of the professional dance career.

Angelica initially worked in the NHS Psychology and Psychotherapy departments at St Georges, Ealing General Hospital and St. Anne’s Hospital in London. She also co-founded Arts Psychology, a small group of artist psychologists in London who developed a range of workshops, teaching and psychotherapeutic services to different arts organisations in London and the UK. Angelica then moved to work in Northern California, US providing services in a clinical, teaching and supervisory capacity in several different adult and adolescent mental health settings. She was also a member, alongside Counsel and Judges, of the Mental Health Court team of Nevada City, Northern California.

Back in UK in 2004, she joined Southmead Hospital, Bristol as a Senior Health Psychologist in the Department of Rheumatology and alongside this developed an ongoing private clinical and expert witness practice in Bristol based at Litfield House Medical Centre.

Angelica’s psychotherapeutic work involves the treatment of people with posttraumatic stress, anxiety and depression, work-related stress and burnout, complex grief, somatic and chronic health issues, marital and family issues.

She has twin daughters now aged 22 years old.
