The Bristol Medico Legal Society is an association of doctors, dentists, barristers, solicitors, judges and veterinary surgeons. Our aim is to bring together lawyers and medical professionals in a social setting for talks of interest to both.
Each season we hold four evening meetings with a distinguished speaker. We explore serious and important issues but aim to entertain. Our history pages will give a taste of the topics we explore.
There is also an evening of short papers by members, following our AGM in May each year. Prior to each meeting, we offer a communal 2 course supper, with wine. There is a small charge for this but simply to covering the catering costs. Otherwise, attendance just for the talk is free to members.
We have a formal but noisy dinner in March at the Mansion House, with an eminent after dinner speaker, fabulous food and wine.
Our society succeeds in promoting friendship as well as giving intellectual stimulation and networking opportunities. Meetings are lively and debate is often vigorous and informal.
