Update re: talk 20 November 2014

For the second meeting of our programme, we were due to have Anthony Steen, whowas to talk about his work as Chairman of the Human Trafficking Foundation.

Unfortunately, Anthony has been summonsed to Parliament. He has, however, arranged for Camilla Brown, CEO of Unchosen to attend in his place.

Unchosen is an anti-trafficking charity that organises film campaigns to raise public awareness and combat all forms of human trafficking, forced labour, sexual exploitation and domestic servitude in the UK and Ireland.

January News

The Committee have sampled the menu for our black tie dinner on 7 March 2014 and are pleased to report that it is of exceptional quality.  There was a clear vote that it was one of the best to date.  We won’t spoil the announcement by going into detail but keep your eyes open for the flyer.  We have also chosen the white wine which will be available on the night.  For red wine drinkers there is a fantastic wine from the selection the Society has laid down and which would not be available to by commercially.  We expect this event to sell out so please do book early to avoid disappointment.

We are pleased to announce increased numbers at our supper evenings.  We have more great speakers lined up for the rest of the season.  Our May 2014 speaker is being finalised –more news to come on that front.
